Today we made our first trip to the hardware store (of many, no doubt)... We picked up three 4x8' MDF boards, 3/4" thick. In addition, we picked up plenty of screws, some L brackets, and a T square. Had to borrow a friend for transportation (thanks Scotty), nice knowing someone with a truck...With some trepidation we double checked our measurements and began sawing. Unfortunately we have a slightly poor work environment - instead of a nice workbench, we have a barely-stable beer pong table. Everything seemed to go pretty well, and we ended up with two nearly-identical cabinet sides. Next up, we will clamp them together and sand or plane all the edges to make them truly identical.
